Rather than attacking Romano as factually wrong (arguing, e.g., that European Muslims are in fact more liberal than Romano implies) you call him a nasty name and leave it at that.
We can agree that if Romano is simply making this all up because he doesn't like brown-skinned people, then yeah, he's a bigot. But what if Romano is correct (which you don't actually dispute) and a significant percentage of European Muslims are, in fact, ultra-conservative religious fanatics? Is it "racist" merely to observe that such a state of affairs exists?
Conflating religious criticism with bigotry is ultimately bad for the left. It's a means of shutting down debate over important political ideas. Moral and religious theories are good or bad independent of the skin color of those who hold them. I think political Islam is substantively bad. You can dispute this if you'd like. But it does not become an attractive set of rules and beliefs -- and certainly not an ideology immune from all criticism -- merely because many (though not all) of its adherants aren't white.

Let us not forget that Islam is an ideology, a religious doctrine. You completely fail to address this. It is not racist to subject Islam to a socialist critique which, by the way, is long overdue. There is a problem on the "left" with a thorough, ongoing critique of Islam which, we must note, is also - and always has been since its inception with Mohammed - a POLITICAL as well as religious ideology. Therefore it raises the question of the relationship between this doctrine and CLASS interests. The "left" has blinded itself with so-called "Anti-Racism" to the detriment of a Marxist critique of Islam

The so-called "Naked racism" Romano is accused of is from a quotation by the author of the book Romano is reviewing. Yet, you're ascribing that racism to Romano. Need to get the facts straight.
