I am just vegetarian, not vegan, and I love my dairy, but I do find, especially when I'm sick, like now, that I have like a mucousy refluxy after effect, though it is short lived.
Are you open to bars at all?
Like Lara, Luna, Balance?
I love bars and get a lot of protein through them.
Kashi granola bars are cheaper and still have a serving of protein in them.
I am also a big fan of beans and whole grains as sources of protein.

Question, and this is not meant to sound snarky or sarcastic or anything, I am genuinely curious: why do you so want to have a baby? I ask because I have NEVER felt that way in my LIFE. I had a younger sister (5yrs my junior) growing up (I still have her, she's just all grown up herself now and has a son) and I suppose I got my fill of taking care of another person that way. I can barely find time for me and my hobbies and my 3 kitties and my "hubby", and I can't imagine the time-suck a child would be. Actually, I can imagine, and that is part of why I don't have any. But I've never WANTED one. I'm 34 and I apparently have no "internal baby-clock" or whatever snazzy name they have for it.
