In the UK there are only 3 excuses for excess alcohol in the blood while driving, and they are VERY hard to prove.
1) My drinks were spiked.
2)I wasn't in the driver's seat. (It was her!!!)
3) It was a life-or-death mercy mission.
Or, of course,all three.
