Should you ever find yourself in Washington Heights (though truly, why would you, even if the neighborhood's nice) I highly recommend Bleu, although fuck if I know where it is. 185th and Fort Washington, maybe? But they have very nice food, very fine drinks, nice atmosphere.

A little closer to home...my favorite place in Tribeca is La Dolce Vita. Gooooood penne and the wine is quite nice.

Lagavulin. Oban (this one can be found in many London pubs, as I discovered). Glenkinnchie. Talisker. Cragganmore. Dalwhinnie. Off the top of my head.

I find the two Glens, although quite easily found, a bit rough on the palate when consumed neat.
