Gravatar Let me guess, ET, you cried watching this.

So did I. As well as this and this.

Yes, I am a pussy. But I'm a pussy who can sever a man's spine from his brain stem with one flick of my limp little girly-man wrist. So there.

Gravatar Forest learns he has a son. His brow furrows as he struggles to ask if his son is . . . okay.

I know that Hanks' selection as best actor that year was widely questioned. All I have to say is that the fact that I got misty eyed is just cause for me.

But Scott Thomas' "You fool, I've always loved you." Quintessential tear jerking moment, in my experience.

Gravatar Correct, L'Emmerdeur. It was indeed "It's My Party". And the even worse thing is I thought Eric was really hotttttttt in it.

Argh.

Gravatar I actually prefer Scott Thomas' "You Charlie. It's always been you, since first we met, oh-so-many years ago." Unusual contact lens irritation inevitably follows.

Fiona was the shit.

Gravatar Oh, and Fiddler on the Roof. I always cry bucketloads at the end of that.

Gravatar My Wigan-born-and-bred grandparents said "filum." And it's their fault that until I was about 15 I thought the US town they lived in was prounounced White Play-ins by everyone.

Gravatar there was, interestingly, part of "this american life" devoted to the "crying on planes" phenomenon.

contrails of my tears

Gravatar L'Emme...Cinema Paradiso warrants the shedding of more than a few tears. You are not a poos-poos.

"Toto....!!"

Gravatar I saw "Elf" on a plane, and, while I didn't cry, I did come to the realization that that movie is basically the story of my life.

Gravatar I'm on a flight to London. This is my first trip ever out of the U.S. I'm stuck next to a masseuse and her artist boyfriend who instantaneously inform me that I live in the wrong city and am uncool and "unfuckable" for living there. So, I go to sleep, for one, to avoid them, and two, because it's quite a long flight from the left coast to England. Anyway, I wake up and It's A Wonderful Life was on, on Virgin's personal video screens. And I wept the whole way through. I'd seen it before, knew what would happen, but I just couldn't stop crying. I've probably never cried as much at a movie as I did that night, on that plane, to that movie.
