You know it's really not fair to mention Aretha in the same sentence as any other female singer. You know just not fair.

I've thought alot about AK's clothes, and she is gorgeous and really talented. I think her clothes are about resistance. I think she's trying to resist popifi/slutification like Christina Aguilara; Britney Spears; even Jennifer Lopez.

She's trying to go for originality, strength and self-respect (commensurate with her talent) I think. I mean it's horrible, but at least it's not the other thing.

LaD...perhaps, you may have a point regarding AK's fashion. Still, I'm not a fan of her "talent." I cannot stomach these new singers who just vibrato everything to death, you know? And, yes...Aretha in the same sentence is not fair.

Keyes is not one of those hyper-vibrato singers. She uses vibrato, but to good effect. I think she is one of the few truly talented young pop stars around.
