King died while campaigning for higher salaries for striking muncipal workers (the Memphis garbage strike -- and if you think a transit strike is hard try no garbage collection). So it seems entirely appropriate that a municipal union leader would cite King. Maybe the shameful thing is all the "liberals" who think $50 K is an absurdly high salary for a transit worker.
