Paul Jacob has always supported the rights of citizens to petition and hold their governments accountable. This is what Paul was doing in Oklahoma and his efforts were rewarded, as you correctly note, by a trip to jail. But not only are First Amendment rights at stake. The rights of citizens to know how their governments manage their taxes, to limit the excessive growth of government, to petition their governments and among other rights, are at stake. Responsible citizens must not only be concerned with these developments, but must also take action. Intimidation, from any political party in power, must not be allowed to succeed.
