Morning Coyote !
I read your rant and feel your pain, but let me just point out something that may take the edge off of what appears to be unfair.
I used to not want to agree with michaelj and others who hammered that we lost that 2004 election because of American voter ignorance. Gawd, I hated to admit that there could be pure stupidity in so many people.
But as time has gone by, and issues like PNAC, Schiavo, Environment, Corruption, deficit, Katrina, have not struck any cords with this same public, I have felt despair at watching the close races and wondering what the Dems could possibly do to wake these people up.
Well, between the NIE, Woodward's book, and now Foley, I think A higher power may be answering our prayers! The party that won the last elections based on Family Values, just shot itself in the foot!
Never again, will they be able to herald themselves as the Superior party with superior issues.
And as for your thinking the Repubs will just sit back and wait for the time they can again slither back into office, I hate to tell you but this Political fight is not over in November if Dems win. No, we shall continue to shepard these Dems to do the right thing, to not commit the same sins of their predecessors and to rid themselves of lobbyist's and corporate vote buying.
So take this gift of Foley and run with it! Because this is one of those "Gut" issues that will resonate with our simple American voters and help us win.
be well my friend,
Pam

yo my young brother...try the decaf for god's sake. i am ready to have the devil's name tatooed on my forehead if that is what it takes to get rid of these creeps. that said once (and if ) the democrats win any power back we need to be ready to pound on them relentlessly so they actually do some good works to make a better world for our children and grand children instead just become a lighter version of what the republicans were. starburst sends her regards.

Be careful amigo, you don't want to permanently delete the repubs from the political desktop because if you did, all those tear-shedding, breast thumping younsters in Jesus Camp would have no option but growing up Democrat. Imagine how much fun meet-ups would be in ten years or so.

I think the GOP has a method to their own destruction: when something bad is inevitably going to happen, they opt for the "bad" which is most likely to get them off the hook for something else, to get away with murder even when they've been caught for theft.
