That's why I went to haloscan on my own blog because I got tired of word verification for myself but I was getting spammed with porn.
Not that I cared actually, but I got tired of looking at it.

It's annoying, and I didn't have it on for about a month. Then all of a sudden I started getting spammed with comments, which went to my email. I'd get 20 comments in 5 minutes all pointing to the same website. That's why I keep it on, its annoying, but not as annoying as getting spammed.

Earlier in the year, three of us (two of which, myself included, get barely a trickle of traffic) were complaining about the verification. Ironically, we with the least hits got spammed more than the third, which is why we turned our verification on.

Blogger's word verification is bad, and though it is hard to determine the letters some of the time, I like it better than the ones on Typepad, where they're black letters on a gray background. I usually can't even see it, much less read it.

I need it on my blog. I don't mean that in an arrogant way. (I'm sorry...I'm sick as a frickin' dog and am not phrasing things right...)

When I did have it turned off I would get between 30 and 34 spam comments per day. It got annoying, time consuming and disappointing.

I'd get my hopes up..."Oh look! Another comment has been added to Just Another Pretty Farce!"...only to have that "comment" be about Herbalife.
