can you still do the cruise even though it's normally for people who do peritoneal dialysis?

Hey Maureen, thx for asking! Unfortunately, no I can't go on a "regular" cruise... they don't have the hemodialysis machines that clean us out via bloodstream, and I need to go to treatment three times a week. Natch!

The cruises do have hemo on board, not just PD. Their website says "We use the new generation Fresenius 2008K" - and not everyone on board is a dialysis patients, only a small percentage. I had looked into it for our daughter but we never went http://www.dialysisatsea.com/home.aspx - anyway, I came across your blog because I run a website called http://www.ihatedialysis.com and I saw your post from Feb. that would be an even better title! Well, I hope things have gotten better for you. It's a tough life for a young person -- as they say -- Dialysis is not for wimps!
Best,
Karol
