Bennett has been there too long... made too many promises... played GOP musical chairs for too long.

I did witness, however, Tom Brinkman doing the same thing as Mr. Bennett at an Anderson Mercy Healthplex event. He walked in, saw Jean Schmidt, got on the phone and waited by the entrance for Mr. McEwen, who arrived in about 20 minutes. This was two weeks ago (in case anyone wasn't aware that he has been the steam behind the man from Virginia). But I'm not concerned about that race...

I am concerned about Columbus. For too many years, they have been an obstructive wall of bureacracy (I guess that's redundant), acting as if they exist to boss our counties around vs. asking what they can do to help grow our base. If the counties are smart, they will stop sending Columbus their "memorandum of understanding," (some to the tune of $20k or more) until they stop acting like they are God's gift to us dumb podunks.

They need a "do over."
