And, as usual, Matt (not hurley), you are wrong. I mean, when exactly are we going to get a REAL candidate? When is the party going to take us seriously? It will not be when we blindly support hacks like dewine just because he is "going to win anyway." That is rather lowball thinking, IMO.
Mark - I have been accused of a lot worse than lowball thinking, so I am pretty much totally ok with you saying that. The point of my post is that it is comical that two opposing campaigns literally dispise one another, yet come together in agreement that I am full of crap.
The irony is only strengthened when I write said post that both sides think I am wrong, and your response is... "as usual you are wrong." When the response to "they think I am wrong" is "You are wrong," it shows a lack of clear, logical thinking about this race, and there will be no opportunity for clear thinking until election day.
I don't think you're full of crap, Matt...I just think you want to win regardless of the consequences towards advancing a conservative agenda.
I'm about getting something done, not simply winning for the sake of winning...and I can't say that DeWine has really helped us all that much. Sure, one can say that DeWine has gone along with 92% of what the White House wants, but that 8% is vitally important to our agenda...I think it was Black Swamp Conservative that wrote about that...and I'm not entirely sure that all of that 92% of what DeWine and the White House wanted was all that conservative either...
I think that the debate is worht having...somebody in the Ohio GOP is going to have to realize that they aren't helping themsleves by dissing the conservative grassroots movement. At some point, there are so many people in the tent that the people who were there the longest have been shoved back outside...that is something that the Ohio GOP should be thinking about. When the Democrats implode the way they have is the time to take bold action...it is time to advance the agenda...not move left, which is exactly what the Ohio GOP has done.
ditto, Mr. Hurley. I just choose not to go all pontificating on it. Other Matt can think of me what he wants. Just because he would rather win with a joke like DeWine than actually stand for something, that is all good. it is the hugh hewitt way, after all.
