Matt,
Bill Pierce has won over the politically aware folks who want an honest conservative U.S. senator from Ohio. Unfortunately, we don't represent a large enough segment of the voting public. In the last week or so I've mentioned Pierce to a couple relatives from different ends of the state (Sidney and Bay Village) and neither had even heard of him. He needs a TV and radio ad blitz over this next week to increase name recognition. I'm sure there are lots of people dissatisfied with DeWine who don't even realize there is a viable alternative. The Cunningham interview probably helped a lot in this area, but didn't reach past Dayton or Columbus.

I, too, have the same concern that L. B. has. There is no sign of a sign, no TV sound bites, nothing that draws attention to him. Voters depend on name recognition.
One thing that disturbs me is his position on same sex marriages. He is "leaning"? What does that mean? Which way is he "leaning"?

Marilyn:
That is a very fair question based on the answer the Cincinnati Enquirer reported in the news article the other day. If I remember correctly, the question was – Do you support a Constitutional Amendment defining marriage?
My FULL response was that I do not favor amending the Constitution for every social issue which surfaces in our daily lives. However, since we do have one state which allows for gay “marriages” and other states contemplating it, we may be forced to consider a Constitutional Amendment in order to have uniformity among all states.
Such a policy is necessary in this instance because a gay “marriage” created in Massachusetts does not include shackles forcing the couple to remain in the state for a lifetime. The question then surfaces as to how another state should (must) recognize the arrangement.

A very respectable position Mr. Pierce; very close to my own.
I wish you well.

Mr. Pierce - Thank you for taking time to respond to my remarks. Isn't it up to the individual states to decide how they want to handle this perverted behavior? Just because one state has caved doesn't mean that we in Ohio need to accept that arrangement. Why must the federal government get involved at all? Why must there be "uniformity" just to make it easier on those who choose this way of life. Let them figure out where they can go and can't.
