Weapons of Mass Discussion - TROLLS wll NOT be tolerated. Period.

You guys ignore this story for five days, then try to go after Democrats? Clean out your own house.

Gravatar Bryan, I guess "clean" is going to have to be a relative term as long as Barney Frank is still in the House, and as long as Ted Kennedy is still in the Senate.

The GOP has plenty of warts, but one thing they do that Democrats have done to NO ONE in over 30 years is purge those involved in personal sex-related scandalous behavior:

Double Standard Sort-out of WaPo Article (Plus “Oversights”)

Occasionally, voters have done the purging, but the Democratic Party itself has not forced anyone's resignation from national office over personal sex-related scandalous behavior without a criminal conviction obtained (e.g., Mel Reynolds) since Wayne Hays in 1976.

As to Strickland, he has some explaining to do, which he probably wouldn't have to do if he didn't at the same time seem so open to unconditional "forgiveness" (which really isn't forgiveness, it's really negligence and laziness, and requires nothing of the person being forgiven), and so open to the idea of hiring ex-cons for state government jobs.

Gravatar Clean out both of these horrible houses... economist Bill Peirce for Ohio Governor.

http://peirceforohio.com/

Gravatar Well, Greg, at least you spelled his name right...I give you points for that and nothing else...

Gravatar Fact #5 is intellectually lazy and belies the fact that most felons should not be such, because most crimes designated as felonies are innocuous. The salacious addition of “including child molesters” was a beautiful from a smear stand point. I applaud your effort and in this state where the idiocy of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh resonate, so too may your efforts be rewarded.

Gravatar Greg, Thanks for pointing out something else I've always known...there are more conservatives in Ohio than liberals. Knowing that, which even a wacky liberal you does, why can't the 527 media and their willing accomplices in the polling firms ever put out a poll with accurate demographics instead of the oversampling of Democrats that we always get?

Back to your actualy criticism...are you saying that sexual predators aren't felons? Because they are...and Ted Strickland has vowed to help these guys out. As a prison psychologist, one would think that Strickland would know about the reciditivism rate amongst the perpetrators of this heinous crime, but that doesn't seem to stop him from wanting to give them government jobs. That might be okie dokie in your book, but it isn't going to fly in Ohio...

Gravatar Matt,

You are excellent at deflection as you did not answer the question. Did Strickland say felons or did he say Child Predators? This is the question. If you want to be an idiot and say only Child Predators are felons, then be my guest. The classification of what constitutes a felony is different in every state, and so is the punishment. Please review this DOJ report on felonies and tease out the Child Predators.
http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub.../pdf/ fssc98.pdf

Gravatar Matt the only thing "flying" in Ohio are people leaving this State, because it is operated like the Taliban did in Afghanistan. The desire by so called conservatives to create “heaven on earth” is as misguided as LBJ's attempt to heal racism with the Great Society.

Gravatar You didn't ask anything Greg...you criticized. There is a difference. And you didn't read what I wrote either. I said that Strickland would hire felons and that includes child predators. Your beef is with Strickland...he failed to make any qualifiers on his statement. If he meant something else, I encourage him to swing on by the blog and let me know what he really meant...I'll give him a mulligan and set the record straight, but I suspect he isn't too keen on setting the record straight.

The people are leaving this state not because of the religious right (which I would say is getting a bit out of hand, but to call them the Taliban is disgusting and ignorant of the brutality they inflicted on the Afghani people for decades), but rather because Republicans in Columbus have been acting like Democrats. We are the third state from the bottom in business climate. It isn't because of the Jesus freaks, it is because we are paying too much in taxes.

You got anything else?

Gravatar I agree the Taliban are disgusting, but our country paid them 22 million dollars in the spring of 2001, essentially financing 9/11. I sent email to Sen. Mike DeWine - What did you do?

Bashing Strickland was as disingenuous on your part as my comparing the current leadership as the Taliban. Get it.

The people are leaving, not due to taxes, but how we spent it! We have made stupid decisions that have driven sprawl which leads to sterile boring suburbs. People want to be where some action is, not where old ideas rule. I have heard all the Blackwell talking points, so no need to repeat. This state is backward and the only reason one can find is the Republican controlled legislature.

Gravatar Yeah, I think I remember seeing that in the '00-'01 budget...Finance Terror Plots Against America...Yeah, I definitely remember that. Hey, look, you're making an argument that we shouldn't try to buy off any other country and as a fiscal conservative, I'm onboard...no taxpayer funds to any other country for any reason!

That's what I did...

I'm not bashing Strickland...I'm asking a legitimate question and lending supporting evidence to what I think the answer is...

Spending...yeah, brother, you're preaching to the choir here. Are you sure you aren't one of them evil conservative types???

Gravatar Just a portion of the email I sent to Mike DeWine.

------
Fact - US Government is promoting hunger and political destabilization around the world to prevent its own citizens from doing something they obviously want to do. (Recently, Afghanistan destroyed the production of the current crop of poppies. This was achieved at the urging the US and it was accomplished by a Religious Edict from the Taliban. HuH Rah, a country that promotes separation of Church and State has just condoned Religious Terrorism on its own people to get military and economic aid. The result - (1) Farmers get to grow crops that are not suited to the drought stricken region. (2) Money gets siphoned off through corruption to finance more destruction of people/places. (3) FARMERS AND THERE FAMILIES DIE AND GO TO HEAVEN TO PREVENT AMERICANS FROM DOING WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. HIP HIP HURRAH FOR AMERICA.

Gravatar Okay, I'm not real sure what all of this has to do with Ted Strickland's position or lack thereof on child predators; but okay, I'll play...

Are you saying that the United States should support the Afghani growing of poppies??? The United States should be okay with having an ally in the war on terror become a drug economy that supports terrorism? Is that really your position? Or did I read that wrong?

Gravatar Fact: We paid the Taliban 22 million dollars because they destroyed the poppy crop. We bribed a government to terrorize its own people. The Saudis have banned alcohol sales, but you would have a myocardial infarction if they came to America and burned down the barely fields in Tennesee. Do you see the correlation.

Fact: Prohibition did not work, it just made criminals rich, increased the potency of alcohol products and reduced the quality and consistency of the product.

Fact: Legalization of the importation of the raw materials (poppies and coca leaves) would reduce crime and increase good will from the poor farmers in those countries, whose children end up being the terrorists you so fear.

Fact: Americans controlled Afghanistan when the current poppy crop came in. What happened? The boys in charge found out that they do not have any choice but to let farmers grow what can feed their families. Poppies gets it done.

Fact: Opium is to Heroin as Wine is to Grain Alcohol.

Fact: Chewing Coca leaves is a natural appetite suppressant, but the Diet Industry (pill popping fatties) in America would never stand for a natural appetite suppressant to ruin thier lovely market.

Fact: Conservatives are suppose to understand Capitalism (supply & demand), but with this case they do not. Why?

Fact: America is already dealing with the Devil during its ignorant war on terror, by playing nice with Kazakstan, Afganistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and many other nefarious non democratic nations. And then to make matters worse, we support a regime in the ME that offers America nothing but problems as it sides with Israel at every turn.

Gravatar I'm going to use little words so you understand, Greg...

What the frack does poppies in Afghanistan have to do with Ted Strickland's views on child predators.

Try www.blogger.com and start your own blog to spew this nonsense... I'm not interested in your black helicopter theories. Drugs are bad, m'kay?

Gravatar I explained it before, it is a question of logic.

Answer the question - Are all felons child predators?

NO

Are all convicted child predators felons?

YES

What is the percentage of felony child predators?

Less than 1%

You took a corner case and argued as if Strickland was going to employ only child predators. A stupid and wasteful argument.

I did appreciate the m'kay, as it shows some culture on your part, referencing the man Eminem.

Gravatar Okay...so where did poppies and Afghanistan come in to the pucture...you know what? Never mind...

And it was a South Park reference...

Gravatar Poppies came in on the Taliban Afghanistan reference, which I dropped in my last post. No reference what so ever. I think the data analyst part of your brain has been eradicated, maybe global warming has ruined that part of the ole hemisphere. Simple Prohibition did not work for alcohol and it is not working for Drugs. Simple!

Okay, Yes Eminem did a song with the South Park Kids concerning drugs, so I think we can call it a draw at least on SP. Here are the lyrics, if you have never heard it is classic. (http://www.elyrics.net/read/e/eminem-lyrics/the- kids-lyrics.html)

What are you going to do to support the next Gov. of Ohio, The honorable Ted Strickland?

Gravatar Maybe Drudge has diagnosed your cognitive ability problem about Drugs. He links to an MSNBC story that Marijuana prevents the onset of Alzhemiers and preserves brain function.

Legalize IT and save yourself!

Edited By Siteowner to codify the link.

Gravatar My cognitive abilites are just fine...poppies and Afghanistan had no relevence to Strickland and child predators...that was my point. Thanks for making it for me. Again.

What will I do to "support" Strickland? I'll be voting for Ken Blackwell and making sure that Strickland's history and record gets as much sunlight as I can manage to shine on it.

As for your marijuana article...it doesn't say what you claim it does. How big a liberal are you? You failed to see the KEY WORD..."may"...there is no conclusive evidence one way or the other. But again, I ask what this has to do with the topic we are discussing in this thread? Let me answer that for you...it doesn't. It is yet another distraction form Strickland's record. I'm not buying it, Greg, and neither are my readers.

Gravatar Excellent read, I knew you could decipher the english language, so why would someone of your intelligence imply that Strickland would hire child predators, when the word was felons. It seems that you like to twist words and fling mud because you are a die hard republican.

It is always about power and how far people will sell their soul to keep it. You and your readers have already drunk the kool-aid and I am sure you and your brown nose (shirt) will be well rewarded.

Did you get the Brown Nose from Blackwell or were you Foley's (biatch) page?

Gravatar Because Strickland didn't say he wouldn't hire child predators...he sayed he would hire felons...child predators ARE felons... I'll say it again, Greg, your problem is with Strickland not me. Ask Strickland to clarify his statement...I'd be more than happy to print that too.

Now, at the end there, you start getting personal, and that's not something I tolerate for too long here. Now, if you want to keep on posting here, stick to the issues... And the issue at hand here is Strickland's record...not Afghanistan, poppies, marijuana, or Alzheimer's.....
