Gravatar Mark, thought you'd be interested in this piece from Nate Livingston's blog...

Gravatar Mark, to reiterate my original post lest anyone think I'm in the "no punishment" camp...

"Is that punishment enough? I doubt it...but when loopholes in the law frustrate the community, I guess personal/public pressure can make up at least some of the difference."

I don't necessarily agree w/the decision to not prosecute this woman. I simply couldn't find the exact legalese to substantiate that decision, ergo my records request from their office.

Of course logical people deem this as heinous and reckless, and although they contend that proving their [exact] version of "recklessness," isn't possible, I think there are closely-related ORC laws that would at least warrant a grand jury.

Gravatar Rose,

I am sorry if I seemed to implicate you in the "no charges need be filed" camp. I understood in your comment that you were not among those. I am sorry for any confusion.

Mark

Gravatar No sweat, thanks. I always like to clarify.

Gravatar This prosecutor and this poor excuse for a human being need to be locked in a car for just as long. This prosecutor needs to be removed from office. I bet he has no kids. A REAL parent would of noticed withing 15 minutes. I REAL parent would of never left a kid in a car unattended AT ALL. We need to get a movement started to get this prosecutor removed. He is a piece of fecal matter... to put it politely.

Gravatar Here's the Donald White's listed number.

732-7313

Call and tell him what you think.

Gravatar Here's where I got the number. Suprise. He's a Republican.

Gravatar I'm horrified that this woman is going to walk. I'm even more horrified that the prosecutor finds this child's life so meaningless that she's not worth justice.

I pray that come election time, Donald White is remembered as the man who would allow child killers to walk free. I pray that the woman's other children do not suffer the fate of this child. I pray that people can see the unacceptable concern that the prosecutors of Clermont County has for it's most vulnerable citizens.

Gravatar To all the concerned individuals out there that believe this case was handled somewhat suspiciously or incorrectly, please take the time to write our Supreme Court, it could change some things.

Gravatar re: anonymous- "surprise, he's a republican."

Well, we here at WMD pull no punches. We calls em as we sees em, regardless of party. This was an egregious error on White's part. regardless of party.

Gravatar This whole thing has nothing to do with the race card, but it definitely has to do with who you know and if you have status. Had that been any person that did not have money and status and paid off the county commissioner, be they white, black, red, yellow or green, they would have been charged with manslaughter or at a minimum with child endangerment. We all know there are no such things as "accidents" in the eyes of the law anymore, unless...... your name is Slaby or if you have status. If I recall correctly, there was a 2yo child that went out a locked door of a house and was wandering around while the parents were sleeping and they were charged with child neglect and endangerment, simply because they didn't wake up and hear that child go out the door. AND I am sure if that child would have died, they would of been charged with some serious crime. Isn't that how poor little Marcus Feisel got pulled out of his home too, he kept wandering outside? Look at Liz Carroll, she got more of a punishment than an evil person who burnt that sweet little boy's dead body and then helped throw it into the river and if you ask me, that is a monster and yes the same kind of monster that would wrap a child up and lock them in a closet and stupid enough not to care if the child died. There is just really something wrong in Clermont County, something seriously wrong regardless of race, it is all about the status. It is very sickening and makes me glad I am no longer raising children in Clermont County. I hope the parents at Glen Este are outraged and refuse to let this woman be responsible for their children. She obviously need not be responsible for anyone's children. I give anyone the benefit of the doubt to make a mistake, but this was blatant disregard and we all know that if we were the ones that even made a small mistake with our children social services would be at the door hounding us like wolves and even if you left your child in the car while you paid for gas and a cop saw that, you would be cited. So, we all see the writing on the wall here and SHAME ON YOU DON WHITE, SHAME SHAME. Just remember when there is no justice on this earth, there is a God up above and no one can escape his justice, not even Don White or the other prosecutors who let child killers (YES and that includes neglect/remember little marcus was left in a closet to die, he was not violently murdered, he was left in a closet to die an awful death, just like poor little Cecilia died, the manners of death are very similar indeed), except here, there was no cover up and burning of the corpse and then throwing it in the river, but wait, Liz didn't do that, Amy Baker and Mr. Carroll did!! So if Liz is in jail for life, where is the justice for little Cecilia?? If the other teacher wouldn't have found Cecilia, do we really know how this would turned out any different? So,what is the message in Clermont County? What a crying shame!! And hey....I WONDER, IF THAT TEACHER

Gravatar I WONDER IF THAT TEACHER HADN'T FOUND CECILIA IN THE CAR, HOW LONG IT WOULD OF BEEN BEFORE THE SLABY FAMILY REALIZED SHE WAS DEAD IN THE CAR... AND THEN WHAT??? GUESS WE WILL NEVER KNOW.

Gravatar The Cincy Enquirer has a front page spread trying explaining why poor Cecelia wasn't endangered, neglected, nor abused. What Cecelia DID have was a mother that routinely left her in the car alone. She did have a mother who gave no thought to her welfare for eight hours. She did have a mother who let her roast alive because she was more concerned with getting the dounuts into the school.
What is equally sad is how the Human Services, trying to brush some of the filth off their tarnished record, is reviewing the welfare of Cecilia's sister. In order to appear competent they are going to decide if another child will be placed into the foster care system. It seems the Clermont County officials want to punish this child as well.
Lastly, the paper states that the mother curled up on the floor and cried, "I don't deserve to live." I couldn't agree more. I think a slow roast would be the perfect way for her to end it all.

Gravatar I am completely shocked (I am having a hard time finding the exact word for my grief.) by this decision. I totally agree that the involuntary manslaughter charge would certainly be appropriate. This woman is not a first offender. She has habitually left her children in the car as a matter of convenience. Who does this?? I thought that act in itself had some legal bearing. Further, I have read that this prosecutor thinks and hopes that this person should get her job back at the school. I don't know...is that who I want looking after MY kids????? What do you think we should do with the woman who killed her two kids by racing one train (which was probably a crime) won, and mistakenly didn't see the train coming in the other direction. Seems like an accident to me... Slow suffering death. That is what this child went through. Who out there does not have their kids in the very forefront of every move they make, every thought, each day! At work, or anywhere else, it all leads to what is happening on the kids' schedule and when. If you aren't ready for that responsibility in life, you have no business trying to be a parent RESPONSIBLE for the well being of helpless, defenseless, innocent children.

Gravatar Hear the latest ??? At the autopsy, it was noted that little Cecelia had window tint film under her fingernails !!!! She was apparently trying to claw her way out of her pressure cooker Mercedes. Also, think about this: The reports said her skin was blistered, dead people/skin DON'T blister, only live ones, Cecelia cooked alive in that car ! One question concerning Recklessness -vs- Negligence..."WHO" put her in the car ??? Mrs. Hyphen did !!! She put the donuts in too but remembered to take THEM out. SHE put Cecelia in the car too. Prior "course of conduct" shows her RECKLESSNESS in leaving her in the car. Lastly: Did anyone realize that her defense attorney is also a County Commissoner ???...who controls the budget of the Prosecutor's Office......Hmmmmmm Little Cecelia just got "Good-Ole-Boy'd" by the upper crust elitest !!!!!!!!
SHAME ON THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It should've, at the very least been put before a Grand Jury.
