In his seven-year career as a State Representative, Brinkman was twice voted "Most Ineffective" legislator by members of the media, the Governor's staff, and his own colleagues in the House. I think the article is available in the Columbus Monthly magazine. I guess its easy to be principled when you don't do anything. I think you tube has a pretty good video of Brinkman speaking in support of Heimlich's sales tax increase that cost him his job. I can only assume that since he supported the tax hike he voted for the tax hike.

You're correct in saying that article is available in Columbus Monthly - infact it's in the November issue.
Brinkman has no money. Brinkman is hated by the Schmidt camp, and even some in the Heimlich camp dislike him. He's the only person more unelectable than Schmidt - and do we really want somebody in Congress who won't be able to do anything for his constituents?
Brinkman should stick to the printing business.

There is no question that Jean Schmidt has been extremely effective at raising our taxes and voting for billion$ in wasteful spending. When it comes to increasing the size of government, Brinkman is very ineffective.
Keep up the good work Tom. We need more "ineffective" legislators like you.

Yet, again, you don't answer questions like him being in favor of the heimlic tax increases, etc. Nice way of evading the question, COAST hack. And what about his opposition to the death penalty for terrorists? And what about Brinkman voting to approve the budget, a budget that increases govt. spending? Hmmm???? What about that, COAST hack?

Brinkman voted against the Heimlich tax increase. I'm sure that disappoints you. He's also voted against all other tax increases that came his way. I can understand why pro-tax fanatics like you are upset by someone like that.
While we're here, why don't you discuss Jean Schmidt's tax record.
Tell us your thoughts on Jean Schmidt voting for Bob Taft's Sales Tax hike:
Tell us your thoughts on Jean Schmidt voting for Bob Taft's Gas Tax hike:
Tell us your thoughts on Jean Schmidt supporting the Simon Leis/David Pepper/Todd Portune Sales Tax hike for Hamilton County residents:

We Love Taxes, Brinkman is on the record supporting Heimlich's jail proposal in 2006. If he voted against it, that makes him a flip-flopper.

On March 5, Tom Brinkman, co-founder of COAST with ol' butt-slapping, profane Christopher Finney, will wish he had gone straight back into private life instead of taking one long last detour through the limelight of local politics. His entry into the OH-2 GOP primary will only serve to muddy the waters with dirty tricks. His exit from politics, which I hope will occur after the keester-kicking he (and Heimlich) are in for in March, will be a breath of fresh air for the SW Ohio GOP.

WLT, I think it is you, given the other commenters who come here with facts and links to facts, that needs to get yourself straight. The door is open for mr. brinkman to talk to matt and i about his positions, not muddy the waters with hacks and bots like you out there trying to hate on Jean because she isn't a man crush of yours.

Mark you've been making a lot of references to man crushes lately. I'm not interested in discussing that lifestyle here.
I've presented facts. Tom Brinkman has voted against every one of those tax increases listed. Every single one, including both of the HamCo Sales Tax hike proposals that were supported by Phil Heimlich (2006) and Jean Schmidt (2007). Those are the facts.
If you want to talk to Brinkman and discuss further I can't help you there except to say his phone numbers are widely available and I hear he's pretty easy to reach for an elected official. That's all I can do for you on that front.
