I can say that I'm a moderate. I am liberal on some issues and conservative on others. That what a moderate is. Middle of the road is another term.
The Republican Party isn't just a conservative one. There is a liberal wing of the party. That is the wing of Nelson Rockefeller (a great Governor of NY). For me to join them (I'm an independent) the Republicans would have to move more middle of the road and embrace those of us who remember the Rockefellers.
I don't support Obama because he is too liberal for me. He is so far left he make Ted Kennedy look like a conservative. He has no real program for change (just likes to use the word). And he's a racist, anti-Semite.
I support John McCain because everything I have read or heard about him shouts INTEGRITY! And yes being President of the US is a matter of character.
