Yes, KNME can have quite a run of good shows sometimes. Last week on Tuesday was back to back NAKED PLANET and NOVA shows all about Kilimanjaro (touched on briefly last night by Al), followed by a staggering 4 hours of California Dreaming on Wednesday! Mix in some hockey and basketball championships, and you’ve some serious couch tater time….
Soooo, better make your plans now to go to Africa; closer to home, we should have at least a couple of decades left to visit Glacier National Park. I am looking forward to seeing An Inconvenient Truth, but like Fahrenheit 9/ 11, it is probably too hot to handle for many people. That ‘someone’ who ‘gets it together’ will need to be able to get people to wake up without scaring them.
...caught An Inconvenient Truth opening night. It's pretty solid, depending on how much you want to know about Al Gore's personal life. I guess the filmmakers felt the need to re-visit his backstory so the viewer can understand his POV. I wouldn't agree.
The strongest parts of the flm was the geeky science stuff. Every time we went to 'him,' I was impatient to get back to it.
It was so compelling and convincing...wow. Toss in what we see with our own eyes outside (and the floods in Houston yesterday from climate changes) all could have been from the script.
