I plan to go to Santa to testify.

I can't believe we have folks falling out of their chairs about "Red Lights" - no a peep about TIDDs.

I suppose getting caught running a red light is more personal than having your children's and grand-children's future compromised. Look what we have done nationally.

Such a great point about folks getting riled up over red light tickets but not TIDDs!

Attaching some accountability and giving shape to the free-for-all TIDD policy as it currently exists in NM is critical. Thanks for taking this one on, SWOP, and of course Marjorie!

I'm glad you're making the trip Rey, the more voices speaking out on TIDDs the better, especially from our elected officials.

Call it a pandora's box of tax subsidies ...or simply a disease. Here is a news article describing the recent request of an Albuquerque developer for a TIDD in Farmington to build a 800 unit housing development: http://www.daily-times.com/news/...news/ ci_8114562

Best bit from the article:

"City Councilor George Sharpe said TIDDs should be created by the council, not developers.

""The city is giving up a future chunk of revenue to make improvements it deems to be important," he said. "I don't think developer-driven TIDDs are necessarily appropriate.""

Great question, Councilor Sharpe.
