I love baseball.

Public v. private spaces are one of my favorite planning musings. A great book on bldgs using the public space density bonus in NY - yet then putting their "public space" in the locked lobby, or the limited access roof etc. - is Jerold Kayden's "Privately Owned Public Space: The New York City Experience." Back in my academic life I helped him with his hilarious (I thought, anyway) powerpoint tour of NYC's "public" spaces.

love the lula quote!

As to journalism, we could debate what does and does not constitute that for a good while. Plus, if you have a structural perspective, bias would appear to be irrelevant next to what sells...not to mention what information does and does not serve to keep the system itself intact. As to blogging, it's much like an open op-ed page. If we want to be credible, we need to be clear about our sources, range wide, and not have a herd mentality. That was a point well-taken here at m-pyre during the recent hoo-haw over the blogosphere.

I especially like Lula's use of "son" in addressing W... totally takes me home
