Over here in the Tarheel state, excitement is mounting in anticipation of our primaries on Tuesday! I'm hoping to snag a last minute ticket to the NC Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson Jackson dinner where BOTH Hillary and Barack will be. If I can't make it to the dinner, I'll be hitting up the Wake County Young Democrat's after party. Woo hoo!

Tar Heel State...two words!

Sarah will start writing for us next week. She's finishing up her final projects for the semester.

Update: I scored a ticket to the JJ dinner! Will report back with all the juicy gossip!

Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday! Brunch. Delicious!

Can't wait to hear how it went, H. Great brunch today Tony!

All the Texas heads - and everyone else for that matter - might want to head on over to SWOPblogger this weekend, where El Molestoso is providing some real time blogging from Hondo, Texas and the Real Change Hondo campaign.

The local grassroots effort has upped voter turnout for local elections by 700% over recent years, running a slate of progressive candidates, including Chavel Lopez, a long-time community organizer and founder of Southwest Workers Union, a 20 year old community benefit organization (non profit).

It's getting exciting down there, with a real close election between the old guard and the Real Change Hondo campaign. And it's fun reading.

Marjorie, what do you think the chances of getting Angie to this event are?!

I asked her when I saw her last week and she has yet to register. She's only been there for a short while and, being way out in the country, isn't up on any of the politics. She told me she was going to vote for McCain in the Fall so maybe the Real Change slate wouldn't want her registered anyway. Of course, she loves to push my buttons so there's no way of knowing who she really intends to go for.

And actually, I don't really even know if she's in Hondo proper.

Victory! Landslide.
