My favorite thing about you loving Goodreads is how long it took for you to finally get on there, with all my "Seriously Marjorie, it's so much fun!" e-mails... And just wait until the fun of reviewing/commenting on reviewing...

I'm thinking tangents right now too. My head is stuffed full of vet bills, our damn staircase that our dream couch won't fit through to get into the living room, a fantastic Smiths exhibit - well kind of - at the Dallas Museum of Art, last night's gumbo recipe, and other randomness. Gotta settle down a bit before I can write though.

oh no! what a bummer about the couch! how do other people who live there handle this issue?? i *know* that building is full of fabulous furniture!

I don't know, but it's our second failed effort at getting the couch we wanted into our (sigh) second-floor living room. We ordered one ten inches shorter... we shall see.

I think the problem with our building is that every apartment seems slightly different for no good reason at all. Our stairwell has these weird, unnecessary details that close in the space where, for example, a fantastic Crate and Barrel couch might try and fit.

I too am in love with Goodreads. But I do find myself fighting the urge to self-censor my postings. Finally I just had to embrace the inner dork and commit to posting "whatever" I'm reading.

There's no question that McCarthy is worse. Judas did what he had to do. Without Judas, Jesus can't redeem the sins of the world. This is one reason why I like The Last Temptation of Christ so much. It shows Judas as Jesus' best friend.

As opposed to McCarthy, who was friends only with the booze industry.
