Ummm I have not had that experience hon. And i have eaten eggplant more than one. But never in a salad (hee hee).

Wow, no! I absolutely love eggplant personally, but The Good Father can't stomach it - says it has to do with the texture. He's never mentioned anything about a burning sensation though, sorry!

Hmmm, never had that sensation myself but then again I am probably not a good judge of things like that. My stomach has a steel lining!

Not with eggplant, but I do find that with uncooked Cauliflower and broccoli.

paddy - i find there is a, for lack of a better word, spicyness with raw broccoli and cauliflower, but this is different.

I usually eat szechuan eggplant so it's so covered in chilis and garlic that I can't tell where the burn's coming from!

You could be allergic. Eggplant and tomatoes are both from the deadly nightshade family of plants. You can't give them to rabbits, it'll kill them. If you treat them with salt it reduces this somewhat but I would definitely get tested in case you build up a sensitivity.
