Hey Honey
Umm I would say I know how you feel, but I don't. Yes I have worked crazy ass hours but only because I was working 4 jobs at one time.
As a librarian they won't let us work overtime, not one little bit - we have to write down our hours each week so if we go past our limit we have to balance it out the next week.
Become a libriarian - you will still be helping the public.
I love you!

It's a b-i-c-h bitch isn't it? I always find that when I have time for a life I don't have any money and when I have any money I don't have time for a life.
I just said fuck it and took the dogs for a walk in the rain. Now I might say fuck it and watch Shrek 2 and hem some pants.
Or I could make a start on the 100 phone call I have to make to ask people if I could list their house.

I know how you feel...I used to work like that but I did it for the private sector so I got great benefits and made the good money. But I hated it because the people were all about money and the almight dollar and I had no balance in life. So I quit...and still in private sector but 8 hour days, pretty good pay, and LOTS of balance. I do admire the passion to work for the people...it is a great thing that I respect a lot.
Although I also have some friends in the government sector too. However, they all have differing work realities. Those in lower level union jobs work the 7.5 hours and go home every day...not a minute late ever. Then those in higher management, non-union jobs are always working late.

Hopefully all of this pays off, and then you get a nice corner office with a splendid view and a couch and a TV. A friend of mine worked like a dog and then got promoted with the above said. He could then sleep on the couch if he was tired...lol
