I'm so sorry! That really really sucks. And the police are right, this doesn't seem like a job where the theives were looking for confrontation. A girl I know house was broken into recently, and the theives stole everything, and laid knifes all around the house. The police told her that they do this in case someone comes back to the house - this way they have something at hand to attack with. How terrible is that?
