I hardly ever read Blogs or submit my comments.
I am Dyslexic and have been helping people with Dyslexia in industry and commerce for 15 years.
The Educationalist and Accademics have caused so much damage with us Dyslexic's by concentrating on our difficlties -- not abilities
This hasn't made sense for years
Why is Bill Gates and most of his team Dyslexic -- think of Branson and the 49% of the top 100 MD's in the UK -- 39% of untrapeneurs in the US and so on, all are Dyslexic?
What the 'poor none dyslexics' haven't worked out yet, is that we think in a totally way. Which is not only excellent for industry and commerce but also a great asset.
We are some of the best problems solvers in the world, because of our perception of a problem, this can be so different. None Dyslexics think sequentially (very slow)and we think in a natual organic way ie in pictures and at speed (very fast)
To understand your abilities and Dyslexia is the key to our self confidence and our way forward.
We have been 'conditioned' at school and college (through RSE) which has created 'our self limiting beliefs'
This has prevented us identifying our true potential.
I have no doubts you will be happy and succeed, just recognise the RIGHT mentors and friends you have and listen
Best wishes for 2008.

WOW! That's one hell of a self-realization thing going on there!
The strength you've shown by being able to see that in yourself is more than enough strength to help you overcome the way it makes you feel.
I hope it won't be as hard as you expect it to be.
May 2008 be your year!
xx
P.S. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for growth on many levels. (The more wonderful the growth opportunity, the more sucky it is to go through.) Good luck with that!

Can you find a way to step back and see how strong you are? That it's a rare person who has the ability to identify the things that are blocking them and becoming obstacles and issues in their life?
You are a rare person. You may never be the world's best policy analyst. So what. You will be an adequate policy analyst if that's what you choose to do.
If you find comfort in knowing you aren't the only one ... we've all had that 'faking it' feeling. I used to call it 'waiting for the question' - the one question that someone would/could ask me that would prove that I didn't really have a clue what I was doing. That I was a fake in a given situation.
The truth is that I am a fake in a lot of situations, but only for a while. It's the 'fake it til you make it' approach.
Obviously faking that you aren't dyslexic is not an option in your current situation but it has been an option in the past. It hasn't always bitten you in the ass and it won't always be an issue.
Remember that you've strong and very brave and one of the wisest people I know. Those things can't be faked.
