Gravatar oh my Meg, that sux totally. You can have the element for the time if you want to come get it. We will take my car away for the weekend. That of course won't move your hugest furniture, but it could prove to be helpful in your tight situation. Call my cell tomorrow if you need to do this ok.

Gravatar I hear you, girl. We had the same problem when we were moving to TO fr: Wpg. two years ago. My husband had checked and triple-checked our reservation every month including the days leading up to our move. Of course, we were assured that everything would be fine and that a cube van would be ready to haul our stuff. Late in the afternoon, the day before we were to pick up the truck, we received a call that there were scheduling problems and that the truck wouldn't be there on time. No number was left. Our moving date and our arrival to TO tied in with a no. of other people's schedules so we were FURIOUS (effing pissed, really). My husband woke up early the next day & basically, waited at Uhaul until something would be done. In the end, we had to leave the following day. (Bastards) Further to this, as we were JUST about to roll into TO, the police stopped us and told us to pull into the parking lot - on the other side of the highway! - for an inspection. Apparently, Uhaul had been under a lot of scrutiny b/c their standards weren't being met (yet they continued to rent out the vehicles!). We followed up our horrible experience with a very candid (yet civilized) letter but never received a response, let alone any compensation. I wish Autoshare had a longer term rental service. They've never let us down and their customer service is excellent. (Phew - are you still with me?)

Gravatar I hear ya Kathleen (and yes, I was with you until the end).

We've ended up having to hire movers and they're coming Sunday. And really, thank god for that!
