Main Samay Hoon

bah! gave in to the lure of the green stuff eh? thought you were better than that and by that i mean your pretense of being completely indifferent to big names in management

It wasn't pretence. I was truly indifferent. I still am. But some of the reasons for selling my soul are... as a few learned souls told me

- "Management won't close any doors for you, but only open a gamut of possibilities"

-"Go where the chicks are"

I am pretty sure I'll be a complete misfit in a management course but what the heck... you're supposed to take risks when you're young

Fear is the path to the dark side.
Fear leads to anger.
Anger leads to hate.
Hate leads to suffering.

This is somehow related to your joining IIM. I don't know how, exactly. But there is a connection.

The good noose is that your quizzing career'll get a tremendous boost in the process.

Hey! Good luck with IIML! The same arguments can be true even for a career in science; don't fancy the risk involved here, eh?!
And Jaideep? Has he also been lured to the dark side?

@teki
Jaideep is joining Freescale Semiconductors for now. He did get through XLRI, but ditched it. So, the Force is strong with that one, still
I did take the GRE... and applied for PhD at some places but was rejected by them all... So, science kinda ditched me. But Nonlinear Dynamics interests me a lot and I'm not ditching that right away atleast.

Tell me - all my PhD applications to the US were rejected! I have a record of 16/17 rejects with one result awaited. Can't help but feel blah!
Anyways, a good friend from DCE - Ateesh (Aki) is also going to L.

@teki and @Anon-friend-of-Ateesh
I'm going to Indore not Lucknow.
Also, I'd say don't lose heart since one of my classmates got 7/8 rejects before converting the last one - University of Minnesota, I think.

Maybe you are 'destined' for it, are you? Right from the post about your preparations for the CAT up to this one - it always seemed contingent.

I would appreciate it, if you would spare a few of your soon to be precious and busy 'business world moments' to enlighten me. The fork in the road beckons.

Congrats!
