Oh man.....I am still in the middle of messes...in fact, since neither of my boys are teenagers yet, I suppose I haven't rightly entered messdom. I can't imagine missing messes, but in a way, I suppose you miss everything about your kids. We record all our kids first things, but we never record the LAST time they do something...

Oops, sorry about the mess. I was just too frazzled from lack of sleep and being afraid of being late for work to remember everything. Are my striped wooly socks there somewhere? I love those socks. I worked, went home, unpacked my loot, put the sheets back on my bed, and petted the Valentine-kitty. He missed me a lot. He was insanely purry. I then watched three straight episodes of Andromeda on DVD, then crawled into bed (on clean sheets!) and got out the laptop. And here I sit.

I, too, miss those messes.

This past week or so with The Boy at home has been full of delightful memories of what life used to be---dirty socks, dirty dishes, bathroom clutter. It has also shown me I am learning to appreciate life as it has become---much tidier! The best of both worlds indeed.
