I've heard it's bad out there. Mom called from the Palatial Country Estate to say the phone box for the entire neighborhood had flooded out and they had to use their cell phones for the next week.

I understand your comments about the flooding. My morbid thoughts have been each person that died in Asia, themselves, had no idea of the grand scale of the devestation. To them, it was just their own death they were participating in. Does this make sense? On the same line, the victims of 9/11 were "spared" the aftermath and the knowledge that it even WAS an attack on America. Very morbid, I know. I just agree that when a tragedy is occurring to you, personally, the big picture doesn't really matter at the time.
I need to go lie down.
