Tell me what you really think.

My daughter will be 13 when I turn 50. Somehow I don't think I'll be at at her "peak of Mom-ness and Friend-ness" then. Maybe when I'm 60.

OK, this is awesome. I just LOVE this post. Tell me this, how is that you seem to be so in the moment but aware of your big picture too?

Well, at least it gets to 60 degrees in Indiana. Here in State College, PA it hasn't been sunny for two weeks, and there's flurries every day.
Perhaps by May it'll hit 60.

Oh, but haven't you seen the Jamie Lee Curtis thing where she made them take pictures of her without the makeup, special lighting, and airbrushing, and then compared them to the fancy fixed up Jaimie? Cause there's definite change there, we just don't get to see it thanks to the magic of the man behind the curtain. (Or rather, Photoshop).

Would you believe it even snowed a little bit HERE? It's gone now, but there were just a few flakes under the trees this morning.
I remember when Mother turned 50. Her AARP card arrived in the mail. Poppa teased her and then told ME I could start making her a Grandma any time.
She would have been 70 this Sunday.
I think I need a hug.

Loved this post! You're right, I never thought of it. My Mom was so cool when she was 50, now that I realize it. I was 20 years old and she was giving me helpful hints on my relationships with guys
