Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar you are a WONDERFUL teacher. Wonderful. Can I take my law classes from you?

Gravatar I highly recommend a calculator with a tape then. I never enter the numbers the same way twice. No wonder I was a French major.

Gravatar Pick your least favorite class and let ME administer the test. That'll scare 'em.

Gravatar You're so organized.

Please come to my office and teach the accountants.

Gravatar Good for you on the final exam. I sometimes do oral finals and those are fun. (for me, not for the students!) I haven't kept a paper gradebook for years, however I do back up to our school district server and my home computer.I don't trust computers!

Gravatar FINALLY! Somone who knows the difference between a spreadsheet and a database.

Too many people use spreadsheets for tons of data which eventually becomes unmanageable. Spreadsheets are for calculations on data...not for tracking and storing it.

Of course, Microsoft realized the abouse of the spreadsheet early on and gave Excel a lot of database functionality but that doesn't change the original intent of the program.

(Computer software is a passion of mine.)

Gravatar I haven't got a clue how to store grades, find grades, anything on the gradekeeper program. It's all in the book for me, too.

Gravatar You really are very special..You're students are so lucky...

Gravatar You old fashion teacher you!! Oh by the way...have I told ya that you're the best today?

Gravatar Have you ever used Micrograde? I really love it-- it's specifically designed for gradebook applications, and one thing I do all semester is that after every assignment they get graded (there are usually only I give them a "report" of where there grade stands right then. That way, they can't say "I didn't know I was getting a D till the last day" and it also helps my grading on evals. Cause they always feel in the loop-- and Micrograde has this handy dandy "print report" function.

I love it a lot!!!!!! I know the spreadsheet thing works, but this works even better. And a lot of universities have site licenses for it; you should check with your faculty development folks.

And no, I don't work for them or get any kind of commission. I wish!! But it does do my heart good to see someone trying to compete with the Evil Empire.

Gravatar Curse that dreaded smiley face guy. I wish I would stop putting "8" next to parenthesis... I said there are usually only 8 assignments, but you can program it for more.

Gravatar Popping my head in via Michele!

Gravatar I hope my kids are lucky enough to have teachers like you...
