Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar You would love it at my house. Seriously

Gravatar I spent my entire teenage years trying to convince my father of that every Saturday morning. He never quite saw it that way.

Gravatar Give Weeds a Chance

Sounds like a good motto to me!

Gravatar Thanks for making me feel better about our overgrown yard!! I say yard, because there is no actual lawn, just dirt, rocks, and tall weeds. Pretty weeds though!

Gravatar Your analogy applies to people as well.

Gravatar I agree. I'm the one who mows around the wild flowers in the spring. We have tall patches of them dotting the yard. My husband just shakes his head.

Gravatar OT, but just wanted to say I'm loving your comments at SC&A re: education!
And I like my weedflowers, too.

Gravatar But...but..it is tick season. Besides I have a teenager, he must earn his keep.

Gravatar My uncle went to school for horticulture (or something. Forestry?). Anyway, he is the go-to guy when my mom wants to know if something is a weed or not. His answer, invariably, "That depends. Do you like it?"

Gravatar Those with lawns cut short miss out on a lot of pollen too. It only takes once a year of letting the allergies reach that point to swear never again.

Gravatar We keep a "vase" of dandilions on our picnic table - Gabriella loves picking them for me!

Gravatar Nice to know I'm not the only one who prefers the wildflowers to the mower.
Before I moved my neighbour actually had the nerve to complain about the state of my back lawn and that the weeds were seeding and infecting her perfectly manicured lawn. The fact that my neighbour on the other side was actually a large nature reserve full of wild flowers and grasses seemed to have escaped her.
Now I live in the country with a large field for a back garden and neighbours who actually prefer the natural look *yay*

Gravatar This is why I planted crocuses in my yard and violets in the cracks of the sidewalks ;0)

Gravatar I have to cut my lawn because of ticks, however, you can always find patches of tall grass and whichever wildflower is blooming at the time scattered all over the yard. Random mowing is my favorite.

Gravatar I'll keep this in mind next time the yard is too rain-soaked to be cut!
