Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar Oh Mama! I love to watch the night sky. I drag my kids outside for every lunar event calandared! You are exactly right, teach them to love it now and it's a gift they'll keep a lifetime and pass on to their own.

Gravatar Ah man...that explains my kids' moods and the hair sprouting on my elbows ;o)

Gravatar When we go on our vacation, the air is so clean, and it's so dark at night, that every night we all lay on a big blanket and gaze at the stars - tons of stars, like the kids don't get to see at home. Amazing, how stargazing leads to some incredible talks. Ok, I gotta hug you now! {{{HUGS}}}

Gravatar Nice message, Mamacita. Did you know there's an outfit somewhere that will name a star after you, or your kids? (See, it doesn't hurt anything; doesn't bother the star at all.)

Gravatar For some reason, I have a far darker response to such landscapes... the wind, the clouds, the full moon...

all we need is some candles, a cauldron, and three witches to recite shakespeare...

and eye of newt and such crazy things...

Gravatar the Night Sky, the Universe...ALL is GOOD and GREAT!
Taking the time to contemplate and sharing your feelings about the wonders of God's blessings- is prayerful!

Thank you for sharing : )

Gravatar Please remind me to tell you about the more strange and not-so-natural lights I saw on the way home the past two trips.

Gravatar Old Horsetail speaks the truth:

Both my girls received a star of their own on their birthday as a gift from Nano & Papa.

Oh, and who is this Jim you speak of? ; )

Gravatar The night sky is my favorite work of art. Ever constant, ever changing, ever present.

Brilliant entry.

Gravatar I noticed it tonight as we were coming home from the fair...it looked huge and so surreal. I just couldn't keep from staring at it all the way back home.

The fair...sucked!

Gravatar Brilliant! I was outside taking pictures of that silver moon just last night! However, I need a tripod because taking a clear digital picture in the dark is a nightmare with unsteady hands. Either way, I do not think the most advanced cameras even from millions of years in the future will ever be able to capture the true and ultimate glory of the Silver Moon.

Gravatar Lilly (and now Marni) are learning where the bear and the lion and the crab and the dippers and the sisters and... are. It's too cool to have them point to the sky and declare, "There's the Hunter!"

Oh, and I went to that "Patriside" blog and aside from the nice post about you, the rest pretty much sucks.

Gravatar Oooh, I saw it too -- just lovely!! You know, the moon was at perigee: the point in the orbit of the moon when it is closest to Earth. Maybe that helped to add some magical luminescence to it

Gravatar I too love to watch the sky... where we live is all open and it's a great view. we get some pretty wild and awesome lookin' moon views.

Hi, from Michele's.

Gravatar Now I had to go check our's out and am very impressed. I am not one that is very knowledgeable about the skies but you've inspired me to learn more, just so I can share it with my kids. Thank you.

Gravatar That's one of our favorite things to do at home, my kids and I. Set up the telescope, and soon enough we're wondering why the hours went by so fast.

Follow that with some hot cocoa and some roasted marshmallows... memories they will cherish for a lifetime, as will I. :o)

I love the picture, and your words.
