Male mosquitoes don't bite. Be sure to sex your mosquitoes before you squash them. Male mosquitoes are just bird food and sex machines.

Females have a higher tone.
Mosquitos live year round in the warm swampy areas. We have mosquitos now because the hurricane blew them in and the cold front didn't scare them away.
I don't know why they're hanging out where you are.
The bad news is that female mosquitos live anywhere from 3 to 100 days. Lots of time to feast.
I found one on my sleeping newborn's cheek once. It was hard to slap him due to his position but I injured the little sucker then HUNTED HIM DOWN. No one feasts on the flesh of my kids! Damn mosquitos!
