Amen! This is a wonderful time of year for so many reasons.

I'm a Jew, and Christmas is my favorite holiday. When I was young, my mom told me to believe in Santa for the sake of the other kids. I still do.

Whoooooo! Somebody got all worked up today!

I'm surprised that you bought into that whole War on Christmas thing. I think it's a divisive device of the Religious Right. You know, the ones who like to think that theirs is the one true religion and everyone else is just a Godless heathen. And, while I appreciate hyperbole, I'd like to point out that there are other free countries.

You know what would be even better? Tell me what you believe so I can celebrate WITH you! Heck, if here is a party, I'll celebrate Festivus with you! I have no problem stopping to find out whether I should wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah or Happy Kwanzaa, just don't make me say Happy Holidays to keep from offending. Its so bogus. Lets do more celebrating instead of less. Lets include everybody instead of ignore everybody. Just make sure there is chocolate involved.

Ditto to the commenters who claim this is all a big fabrication by the Bushies. I 100% agree.

And while there are gallons and tons of other countries that have all sorts of unlimited religious freedoms, this doesn't stop me from raising an eyebrow at anyone who would ever in a million years take issue with a holiday that involves gifts and lots of food.

I'm so confused. Who is picketing against Christmas? I haven't seen a single person doing this.

Seriously, the whole 'war on Christmas" argument seriously confuses me. I'm a liberal and I don't know a single liberal who has taken issue with Christmas. Ever.

I wrote a post on this topic last week, but from the other angle, so I guess it has us both thinking. : )

I'll be honest about one more thing, Mamacita (and I can do this because I love you and you know it) - your last sentence scares me. There are quite a lot of non-Christians who were BORN here. They didn't "move here and not change their ways."
