Tell me what you really think.

You don't want very much, do you?
(I know, I know. This is all possible. This also won't happen, too bad for us who would like for it to.)

Agree completely. Sad that these have to remain dreams, isn't it?

I don't know what it would be like, but I would really like to try for a day. Just ONE day.

Amen, Mamacita! There is no true justice in our country when a molester gets less time then a drug dealer, or a rapist gets time off for good behavior when a tax evading criminal serves his complete sentence.
Great post, rant again.
Sorry it's been a while, promise to not let it be so long between visits.

So true and it's a damn shame that we can't count on that every being possible.

AMEN! It would solve nearly all of the world's problems. But too many of us are selfish and self-centered and seem to think that the Golden Rule (in any language) is not meant for them.

What really got my dander up was all this handwringing over Tookie Williams. He. Killed. Four. People. Directly. He was indirectly responsible for the deaths of thousand more thanks to the juggernaut he unleashed by organizing disparate criminals into the Crips.
So what if he got twenty damn years to try to con everyone into believing his life was worthwhile? His victims never got that chance. I think I'd write a library full of children's books if it could save my life.
I also think they shouldn't provide bulletproof vests to murderers when they won't even provide armored Humvees to our soldiers.
I'm in a mood too. Let's gnash our teeth and growl.

Let's see....
No harassment in the work place.
No accumulating library fines.
No need for Neighborhood Watch Teams and Community Architectural Board Nazis.
And in school:
No bus behavior write-ups.
No hall monitors, sign in/out bathroom forms, no need for "silent dismissal".
No need for detentions, suspensions or "time-out at your desk, please."
No scratches on my arms, bruises on my legs and sore toes from being stomped on.
No need for teacher's with expertise in behavior management.
HMMMMM...

Heh. My plan for world peace is "everybody just be nice". I've been told repeatedly how naive that is (and I understand), but it would be so simple, if only people would cooperate!

Hi Jane, came to see your blog. Yes, you do have fun with it!
I knew there was more to your comment about 'everybody being nice' last night. One thing about the internet is that 'force' is useless. Everyone has to be mannerly or we can ignore them. I wonder if, when enough people start using it, if some of that mannerliness will spill over into offline life? or will the 5% create the same barriers between people?
My 'online' name is Miss Betsy, an almost new internet user. the 'almost new' has two meanings - one it is a nice way of saying I am not young and two it means that I am still not technically fluent.
