You know, my daughter tore her ACL and whe only missed 1 week of school. Hmmm...wonder why it has taken HIM a month?
I've gone to school with appendicitis, so the ACL loser needs to buck up and fly straight. Won't happen, though: he fits a classic pattern.
When I was still teaching (a college communications class) I would howl at some of the excuses some students would use. And it was always the same ones. The ones you KNEW would go out into the real world and fall flat on their face.
You're not cruel. You're ensuring that those who truly are there to work will be justly rewarded. And those who aren't, won't.
