Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar We've moved four times ourselves since the kids left the nest, and as part of the next-to-last move, the kids took all their stuff to their respective homes.

I had to put up every picture I had so I could just glance at the wall and revisit all the memories.

It's a mixed blessing, having all their things gone...

But now I turn my head, and there's the basket of toys the grandson plays with when he comes over. The accumulation had passed to the next generation. Life is good!

Gravatar "Well, no, don't take that doll. It seems to fit nicely there. Oh, and that one, too, is so used to being there....No, not that one either, because....Maybe we ought to re-think this..."

Gravatar My youngest has been gone for longer than yours, and I am still trying to get her to clean out the closet and drawers in her room. It is the overflow guest room and no one can hang anything in the closet since it is packed to the gills with her stuff. She even has papers from grade school!

Gravatar Hang out house..I remember those well there were houses you just felt good in..you knew you could stay there and be welcomed. It was wonderful and I bet you made it heaven for those who stopped by and stayed over. You are just that
MAMA to all..keep the memories close they go so quickly...HUGS..: )

Gravatar I hate to burst your bubble, but my (very extensive) doll collection STILL lives with my parents...and I've been gone since I left for college in 1985. I'm sure Mom's secretly happy about it, too.

Gravatar My mom scheduled a garage sale and told us to either come and get our stuff or it was gone, baby, gone -- and she was keeping the cash she earned on whatever she sold. She meant it, too. GREAT motivation.

Gravatar I'm shocked the daughter in question didn't respond here!
You would miss their stuff....you and I both know it. Although...may be a storage unit in the back would nicely house their stuff so you don't kill yourself avoiding the piles!
