Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar The district my husband works for has had 4 new administrations in the last 5 years. The current one is getting rid of the all the competent employees, and replacing them with useless toadies. It literally nauseates me whenever I think about it.

Gravatar Do you think this is about those with a bureaucratic mind-set? There are too many of these in schools...insecure and protecting their turf, not really caring about kids, values, ideals...why are THEY in education, anyway...They resent enthusiasm, are uncomfortable with open-ended questions....They've got to be in control at all times and they're terrified of losing control. They flatten discussions and the worst thing is, they stay, stay, stay forever!

Gravatar Oh, I know. We have had two colleagues(one close one) on admin leave since near the beginning of the school year. We are not supposed to talk about it, and know nothing about whether they are ever coming back. And they are friends. It's very stressful.

Gravatar Reminds me of a panel in a comic strip about Stalin's purges. In the background, secret police are dragging someone away; in the foreground, two Russians with a newspaper are talking about "How the Potato Collectives exceeded their quota this year, Urra Stalino."

Or a German phrase: Nacht und Nebel.
