Tell me what you really think.

I saw a lot of kids like that when I worked in base fuels while Tommy was in pilot training. And I remember thinking that they were survivors; that they at least had the sense to get themselves attached to one of the best organizations in the world that will support them through even the roughest times. Without a real family to lean on...trust me, the military family is the best support system around. As long as he stays in, he'll be okay.

Thanks for YOUR effort, though. Wouldn't it be nice if you could fix EVERYBODY?

Little bits of progress, nurtured with the scraps of love they find along the way...
They're better for having received it, and we're better for having shared it.
Bless you.

There are a lot of people like that in the world. It's not about being dysfunctional, it's just what life is and what cards we're dealt with. At the end of it, it's how we make the best of it. I say he did the best he can and that's a good thing.

I so know where you're coming from... and I'm not yet where you are. I've only been teaching for two years, but I see kids with the same issues daily. I feel like I'm the only one on campus they show their true colors to, and I'm never sure I want to see their true colors.
The poster that mentioned the strength of military family is right, though... as much as I don't want to say it. It has leant an immense amount of support to some of my most dysfunctional friends from high school.
Btw, don't worry about the love affair with MF... I had an odd dream about Murray this afternoon, and I hadn't thought about them for over 4 months, methinks.

Looking on the bright side, at least he has a high school diploma now, and medical benefits, hopefully he'll learn something about birth control so he can take care of the kids he already has.

If you email me his military address, I will write him a letter.
Poor guy needs to get mail.
Okay that post left me near tears.
