Tell me what you really think.

Don't you just adore the fact that people don't know how to disagree without being nasty? And how THEIR opinion is The One Truth, The Only Fact, and any straying from that One Truth is cause for immediate beheading? And they try to deny everyone else's right to even have an opinion?
And they feel perfectly JUSTIFIED in doing so?
Fa crap's sake.
That Internet best back up or they'll be dealing with ME. And it won't be pretty.

Only time will tell what was best for our kids. We have to wait until they're all grown up to see if what we did worked, no?

Did I ever tell you how funny and pretty you are? I got that from Mir but it's so true. I love this post. People only hear what they want to hear.

It's too funny you titled this today. We had our weapons class (escrima fighting sticks) and we kept saying that when we were the attacker. HAH!
I love your twist on it. ::Mwah!::

"And wuv, twoo wuv will wast fowevo and evo..." I used to be able to quote more from this scene in the "Princess Bride" - one of my all time favorites!
Mama, I think sometimes you just have to let people froth - there are no words of clarification (or even appeasement) to stop the righteous fury that has been unleashed. I'm sorry to say that I have personal experience with this; I've been one who has foamed and frothed without exercising reason!
Cooler heads read your posts about homeschooling and got the message you intended, I'm quite sure. Given my own experience with irrational arguments, I also say there's reason to hope that even those stirred into blindly passionate self defense will eventually come round to embracing your ideas, even if they never publicly acknowledge it. Of course, this means you won't get any credit for being the level-headed, thoughtful person you are...but something tells me that's a burden you're accustomed to carrying.
Happy weekend, Mama! Let your heart be light

Dammit! You just somehow made me spew a sip of wine across my favorite John Belushi shirt.
Uno, you are the queen! I humbly bow before your gifted imagination.
Dos, I LOOOOOOVVVE that movie. And you got everything jest right.
Tres, the only thing I have disliked about my blogging experience thus far is how some people can manage to scream and yell in a medium that is really not designed for such things. If someone disagrees, call 'em a name, tell them that they're evil and going to hell, whatever. Take what someone posts PERSONALLY, fercryinoutloud. Never try to discuss things, oh no, throw a verbal tantrum.
I shake their dust from my sandals as I hope that they cheese off.

Princess Bride? Again, you reign, Mamacita.
Homeschooling/public schooling/private schooling/something else -- do whatever works for YOUR kids. If you have three kids, and one does best with homeschooling, one does best with private schooling, one does best with public schooling: so be it! It's not about the methodology -- it's about what's best for the individual KIDS.
I suck at math. I failed alegebra, and had to re-take it (over two years). Meanwhile, my son is a whiz at math. My issues have zero impact on what he learns and how he learns it. And it shouldn't.
And hearing about various approaches to learning? Differening viewpoints? That's what makes a student a student. We learn best when we have the most options available to us.
Even when that might make us (educators) uncomfortable. Hah!!

So many good points, but I'm stuck on the Princess Bride voice in my head. I'll never shake that priest now!

Mamacita--I am late on this controversial train, but 1)I love everything you've said so far and the way you've said it, and most importantly 2) this is the AWESOMEST movie quote adaptation thing I've ever seen.
in sum, you ROCK! Keep up the excellent work.
