Good luck with the wisdom tooth - and I forbid you to bleed to death! I would miss you too badly. I have to take antibiotics before dental work (mitral valve prolapse) so it's a double pain in the a**.... no... mouth.
Everytime my mom started inon my kids about hair (back in the 70's) I shushed her. "There are bigger battles to be fought", I told her. "Let that one go - you can't win it anyway"!

As to the teen-appearance-thing, I always tell my students that my ideas are as follows:
1. I want them healthy.
2. I want them clean.
3. I don't want to see ugly or disrespectful (to anyone) slogans on clothing.
4. I dont want to know about anyone's underwear or body parts except my own. I'm just not paid enough for that.
There, I'm done.

Hair isn't an issue here either (as evidenced by my daily do (or don't). As long as it's clean and ...as long as it's clean. :D

We have the same deal about hair here. Which is why I once helped my 4-year-old daughter once dye her hair green. She asked. I mixed up the kool-aid & vinegar.
My 3-year-old wants her nose-pierced. I told her to wait until it's full grown. We just don't argue over fashion around here. My mom so hates that I let my children dress themselves, but I have much bigger battles than if her purple skirt matches her pink and blue tie-dyed shirt.
Hey, twin.... YES, I had the Uncle Wiggly game. And Video Village. And the Showboat theater thing. My parents were really wacked out, but they loved "stuff" and we had plenty of it!

hmmm... Nate is currently sporting a mohawk that was "yellow" (for lack of a better word) yesterday and is poop brown today, Sarah has brown/green spikes, and Bonnie has fuscia. Of course, Warp Tour was last Friday, and there's no telling what this Friday will bring...

We have been invaded by deer this year as well. We have the last remaining land in our community (8 acres between my kids and I) so they've all relocated to our yards. I never liked Bambi.

I'm on permanent BOYCOTT of Wendy's...they couldn't ever get my orders right either. I spent 10 minutes YELLING at a drive through box, and not ONCE did the order get recited properly. My order? Jr. Burger, Biggies Fries, Medium diet cola. There are a TON of combinations that can actually be made with those words...and believe me, before I said FORGET IT, I'M GOING TO McD's...I heard them ALL!
