Unfortunately, I was an extremely boring teenager who tried pot once, and--- nothing. I mean it. I DID smoke in high school, but quit when my friend's dad got lung cancer.

I DID get an early appreciation for Scotch, though.

Actually, my 15-year-old niece just got pregnant, necessitating a chat with my 10-year-old daughter I'd hoped to put off a few years, and I just happen to be right in the midst of said panic attack.

I've always been truthful with my kids about the fact that I smoked a wee bit of pot. They were scandalized, and we certainly had our "Pot, meet Kettle" moments, but I think in the end it made them realize they have to make their own, hopefully wise decisions about this stuff. Hopefully.
