Tell me what you really think.

You already know how much I'd like to do that! Heck, I'd even drink the Metamucil - but I draw the line at rice cakes...LOL
I love M&M's - any color - so that's no problem.
What can I bring? Wine? Beer? 7-layer cookies? A big ole fat turkey, roasted to perfection? A honey-baked ham? Biscuits?
S-s-s-somebody s-s-s-stop me!

I can bring some grits.
I worked at McDonald's and we had to add up everything on a piece of paper and then tally it into the register. Also - you could get 2 hamburgers, fries, small coke and apple pie for 99 cents and that was with the tax.

When I was a girl, we didn't have TV...not until I was in the seventh grade, and then, most of the time, it was the test pattern. I listened to all the kids' programs on the radio.
My mother would give the 15 cents to go to the movies. Nine cents to get in, a nickel for candy, and I had a penny left over...and that was for a double feature and serial besides.
I'd love to come for Metamucil. I'm thinking of having a senior citizens Super Bowl party. We pulling for the Colts. We have one lady coming who is a Bears fan, but I guess that will just add to the merriment.
Love your blog.

I am absolutely laughing out loud over this:
"You know you're getting older when the prospect of knee replacement surgery fills you with delight. What's next, having people over for Metamucil and rice cakes?"
I'm gonna share it with my 85-year-old dad. I'm sure he'll love it too!
Thanks for a great laugh, Mamacita!

Hey! We have something else in common! I started work at a Kresge's in the inner city of Detroit! I was 15. I was in charge of: the Buster Brown Sox, the ribbon area (cut and measure ribbons), the popcorn machine (I loved popcorn before that but I couldn't eat it for about 10 years after that. Now I love it again.) AND-ta-da!- the 45s. I had a key to that case. I weighed 96 pounds and in the inner city, I was WAY outta my league. If anyone had tried to steal records I would have backed right away but I don't think people shoplifted so much back then.
I agree with that philosophy of work and started my kids on it early with, "If you're well enough to get up to pee, you're well enough to go to school."
"Who's going to barge in unwelcome?"
Cats????
And yet. Everyone needs a vacation now and then. Someplace sunny and warm. Why don't YOU come and sit a spell? I have bad wine too, you know.

Man, you are making me want to come on in and sit a spell for sure. I don't mind out of season colored M&Ms since they are all good all the time. I just want to ask if you've gotten rid of the cat pee smell from leaving the elCheapo Cat fud out on the deck... It don't matter none to me, just pass the M&Ms.
