Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar Thank you so much for this. You have touched my heart. Really.

Gravatar Ah Mamacita -- I think I love you, for many reasons. (I also think we may be twins separated at birth except for the fact that I am most likely a few years older than you.)

This post was wonderful.

Also - the moccasins -- I LOVE THEM. My feet thank you!!

I wish I had started reading your blog BEFORE I was in Indianapolis last year -- I would have dropped by just to say hey.

I am somewhat intimidated posting comments in the blog of an English teacher--my grammar and punctuation skills have rusted considerably since my school days. As a result, I tend to use dashes when I don't remember how to punctuate.

Anyway, keep the faith baby.

Gravatar "Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?" --Frank Scully

I'd say it's because the tree is weakest there at the branches, Mamacita. Just being the Devil's Advocate here.

Gravatar Utenzi missed the point. He doesn't do that often, but here he did....LOL

Mamacita, I love you, plus everything Katchy said - except I was not in Indianapolis since 1952.

Gravatar I took a Humanities course a few years back, "Effective Writing" I believe was the name of it. One of the passages we studied on a particular day was "The Snake" by Annie Dillard. I liked it and I liked this. Thank you for sharing.

Gravatar I remember when my children were little, and I was teaching, I would anticipate the holidays when we would be off from school. I finally realized that I was wishing my life away, so I stopped doing that.

I sometimes go to the high school basketball games where my children went to school, and I watch the parents there, just as I once was, and I encourage them to savor every moment because they are too soon gone.

It must be rewarding to be teaching those adults who appreciate what it is that you are teaching and have some of the perspective that you do.

I love your posts.

Gravatar Are you in charge? Good! I'll take that day off, thank you.

Gravatar Thank you for helping me learn to love words early on. I am a strong communicator today because of what teachers like you taught me years ago.

Peace.
T

Gravatar I lectured on Raphael's fresco, THE SCHOOL OF ATHENS, this morning, so the Greek philosophers are on my mind. Raphael painted Heraclitus to resemble Michelangelo, who was painting the Sistine Chapel ceiling next door.

You cannot step into the same river twice.~Heraclitus (c.500 B.C.)

Gravatar hi, just came here from Michele's.
Cool blog!

Gravatar Most of my days are off. Be that as it may (present/future?)I'm here with you now. Always.

If only I hadn't already chosen this months perfect post...extra credit goes to those who get their work done early.

xoxoxox

Gravatar I'm already thinking of a way to present this to my nine year olds.

Absolutely fabulous!
