"Would I sit through a six-hour Harry Potter movie, edited and produced and directed by smart people who didn't leave anything out?
Oh HELLZyah!!!!"
Me too! I love the books, and am going to see the movie tomorrow.

You and me both! I was so disappointed that they left out all of the house elf parts in the GOF.

Abso-figgin-lutely!!!!
They could be 9-10-11 hours long and I would still make the time to watch! They have left out so many of the story lines, it is sad. My oldest daughter, who has seen all the movies, but had not read the books (painful to admit!) just started reading book 5 because I will NOT take her to the movie until she reads it because of everything that's missing. So now, she is on chapter 23 with 15 to go and is excited about pointing out what is missing!

Oh, HELL, yeah! As a matter of fact, I'm betting that the last book is going to call up something VITAL from a previous book that the movies left out, and the final film is going to have to do a lot of scrambling to tie up all the loose ends....

We just got back from watching the latest movie!
My husband has a theory that the house elf thing will end up being vitally important in book 7, and the movies will then have to do some serious catching up.
And I adore the books, and can't imagine watching the movies without having read the books first. I do think movie number 5 was far more coherent than number 4.
I am completely addicted.

I don't know, JKR is pretty involved in the movie productions, so there may not be that problem. I was reading a spoiler board yesterday (yes, I'm bad) and a producer supposedly said they tried to cut a character from this movie, but JKR advised that if they planned on continuing to the seventh movie, they really needed that charcter. Now I'm just trying to figure out who they wanted to cut. My husband suggested Luna, because you don't see a lot of her in HBP.

Which is why it's time to bring back the epic Mini-series, a la "Rich Man, Poor Man" or "Once an Eagle."

Too much hype for me. I prefer a sweet indie flick like ONCE. (IT'S A MUSICAL!!)
