Tell me what you really think.

Gravatar Please won't you be my mommy?

Gravatar I love this. I remember the baskets my parents pulled out for us every year, with the special toys that came out just for the occasion. Traditions are important. Your kids are lucky! I don't like those pre-made baskets either. Cold and icky.

My parents don't live near me, but my mother did visit with a cake she made for my 41st birthday last year. I was tickled!!

Gravatar It's not just you. My Mom still sends me an Easter basket-in-a-box every year. I'm 37 years old. And I love it. Mom even still puts money inside some of the plastic eggs. I finally got her to stop stuffing the box with plastic grass, which is hazardous to my cats, but everything else in there is great — especially the Reese's eggs.

Gravatar My mother ALSO still makes me an Easter basket, as I make one for my kids (I will admit that one of the reasons is my never-ending love for chocolate and I get to help eat all the yummy stuff--except I leave the Peeps *gak* for the kids).

We still do stockings, too...and I can always count on one from my parents.
I hope it never, ever stops.

Gravatar Yes, yes- always Easter baskets and stockings. Always. When Rich's two daughters became mine, they were surprised the first year when I knit and filled stockings for them- it took less than two years for that to become a "tradition" and expectation for them.

I laughed this year as we pulled out some Easter basket stuff I had moved down here- the humidity does a number on those old fashioned metal eggs that you pull apart and fill. There were three stuck together from last year and Abby worked hard to pry them open with a kitchen knife. She was rewarded with $$$$! whereas this year I had used all candy. So then she went scouting for more of "those old eggs."
Happy Day after, Jane. You are a wonderful mum to us all.

Gravatar I quit making Easter baskets for my kids after they started having kids, but I have made and continue to make Christmas stockings for everyone in the family.

Do they still let teachers where you are do Easter and Christmas decor such as baskets and stockings? They don't around here, I am sad to say.

Gravatar We still have an easter egg hunt when we go to my husband's grandma's house. The youngest of us is 30 (me and hubby) and the oldest is 98 (grandma)! It is still fun to dye eggs on Saturday and then find them on Sunday. We get baskets and candy. It is great.

Gravatar This is sweet, Mama.

Sunday, my partner was reminiscing about how she threw away our son's Legos when he was about 12. So she went out and got him (now 43) Legos for Easter. And plans to add to it every Easter after. We might have something going here.....

Gravatar My parents still do baskets for us and we're 38, 40, 44 and 46 respectively

Gravatar I don't think it's the things as much as it is the traditions. My kids, both adults and living out of state made srue they were home for Passover this year, as they are every year. The traditions and family times are really important to them and even though they both have lives and boy/girl friends of their own, I'm glad they chose to spend the time with us.

Gravatar My Grandma still sends me Valentines & Easter cards and a little gift. Makes me feel very special

I always want to be able to spoil my kids a little, even when they are grown. I made their Christmas stockings and Easter Baskets. Those premade things are so....impersonal. Plus not practical with my food-allergic son.

Not to mention, the Easter Bunny brought the kids electric toothbrushes this year. They *love* them
