During the CA primary, they ALL called incessantly. If I'd based my vote on who annoyed me the least, I'd have been hard pressed to choose. What chapped me the most were the "calls" (recordings) from the candidates' spouses.
Honestly, calling me with any kind of pitch is the quickest way to lose me. They all called, though, and all annoyed the bejeezuz out of me, and I still had to vote.

So who would you like to vote for and who are you going to vote for? Mine is in the same boat as yours. Not a floating chance in heck that he will win, but doesn't change my opinion.

In California, we were inundated with Mitt Romney robocalls, which wasn't much different from the real thing. Funniest part was that no one in our house is registered GOP. Husband changed registration to Dem last year when he could no longer abide Bush. Guess someone forgot to tell the Republicans.
Your post is the reason why I won't make calls for Obama. I've donated to his campaign and am a fervent supporter, but I will not call, because people are just inundated with it to the point of wanting to scream, and I don't want to add to that frustration.

I think I know who you're talking about.
I wish he had a chance as well.

She is bothering the heck out of me too, and I never answer the phone, I let it go to voice mail. Just a few minutes ago, I had a call from Andy Griffith, who is stumping for a woman running for governor here, and over the weekend, one of the calls was from Bush (all recorded, of course.)
I'm so sick of it that I don't want to vote for any of them.

I had a call from someone from the Obama campaign and i found them very courteous and unintrusive.
The OTHER candidate and her campaign tactics have pissed me off to no end. Never have I been this furious by the behavior of a candidate of my own party.
I wish our country was grown-up enough to elect Obama, but I'm having my doubts now. So sad. I just don't understand it.

Where does she get them? Some ARE at telemarketing firms, and all read from a prepared script.
"As for her lackeys who persisted in arguing with me after I said, 'No, thank you,' I can only say. . . well, no, I can't say it."
Those are probably the actual paid telemarketers. When I worked for one circa 2000 and was given a script for one of the candidates i plead with one person who enthusiastically interrupted as soon as the name was mentioned to say "Of course I am going to vote for X!" to allow me to continue - I would only get paid if I reached the end of the script, or at least was on the phone long enough to have done so.
Oh, and while the candidate was the one I favored, the script came close to making me physically ill. Who the heck writes these things, and does anyone ever think of passing them by the candidate? The latter seems to be unthinkable, as witness McC's reaction to one advertisement supposedly on his behalf.

Lighten up, sis. No doubt these calls are made by locals in your (and my former) community. 'Nuff said. Judging the candidates by the way the callers speak is the equivalent of judging you, as a teacher, by whether or not all of your students--current and former--speak with proper grammar (since you are an english teacher). I think not. Just ignore the calls, and be grateful that Indiana finally matters in a presidential race!

I would love to vote for Obama, but if that doesn't work out, I'll have to vote for Hillary. I'm certainly not voting for an old conservative guy with a temper problem. Look at where we are right now because of one.

I received the letter last spring about being eligible to receive a certificate. But due to moving, I just found the letter. I went online and realized to my disappointment that it was no longer in business. This certificate means a lot to me. If anyone received this award, could I get a copy so my name could be put on it. If you could scan it without your name. My email address is anatnyc@yahoo.com.
I would appreciate any one who might have an idea for me.

There are many, many Obama supporters out there. But many of them (other than the ones who spout the talking points from his campaign) can't tell me exactly why they are voting for him or what he's actually accomplished..other than they want "change". But I think it has to be good change that makes sense, not more government programs meant to solve all our problems but never do. But....if I were a democrat....I would have to say I guess he would be the choice. Her and her supporters just cause a sour taste in people's mouths. She lately seems like a bitter, desperate woman who is frustrated over the young upstart who seems to have moved the needle.
November will be interesting. But yes, those callers can be annoying...if you pick up the phone. They never call here. From either party. They must know.

I like messing with those live people who call. I ask, "Can I can get a ride to the polls?" They don't know.....its fun when they ask someone. I've had them tell me yes, someone can give me a ride to the polls. THEN, I ask about lunch. Again, they don't know. Several of them have actually asked some supervisor about lunch for voters.....and tell me "NO." THEN I ask about being paid for my vote. I tell them my ancestors in Chicago were paid $1.00 a vote, beer and food at each polling place they voted. Usually without asking anyone, the floundering campaign worker smuck tells me no, they won't pay for my vote. I ask why the Democrats have abandonded this old political tradition. Then I end the call. Yet, they keep calling. Who says elections aint fun ?

Had I known you felt this way, I would have thrown my hat into the ring.
As for the Republicans and Democrats- a pox on both their houses. They are equally responsible and equally mediocre representatives of the American people.
